“…his storytelling is in a way jarring and speculative, yet capable of keeping the readers on their toes: –readers are invited to follow an intriguing red balloon buoyed in the air by the contradictions of society, in a polyphonic display of clashing and colluding modernity and tradition, relations between classes, sexes, generations, city and countryside, professions new and old. After reading these stories, readers will be expecting Mojaffor Hossain’s new books with bated breath.” – Pina Piccolo, Italian-American Writer & translator.

“Mojaffor Hossain is a born storyteller with a penchant for treating unusual and even bizarre situations with engaging dark humor. This selection of translations by diverse hands will give anglophone readers a satisfying taste of his fictional world.” – Kaiser Haq, Poet, and Professor of English, Bangladesh.

“Meet Human Meet and Other Stories is a marvel. Hossain’s craft grabs you by the collar and refuses to let go through any of the stories in this collection. Every piece here is fated to stick with you for decades to come.” – Drew Barth, Writer, USA.
